BioWare Promises Discussion Of Mass Effect 3 Ending

By

In response to the controversial ending of Mass Effect 3, BioWare has promised to discuss it once more gamers have had the chance to play and beat the game. Those following the community outrage at how ME3 ended will be eagerly awaiting what BioWare has to say. The fact they are showing signs of listening to the community has raised hopes for some, but speculation remains on how BioWare will handle the situation. Chris Priestly, BioWare’s community coordinator, went on to say “We understand there is a lot of debate on the Mass Effect 3 ending and we will be more than happy to engage in healthy discussions once more people get to experience the game. We are listening to all of your feedback.” The comments made by Priestly on the official forums gives a glimmer of hope to some, while other fans try to find alternative methods to make themselves heard by the developer. The Retake Mass Effect movement, a fan campaign started on Facebook for instance has raised an astonishing $59,000 for the Child’s Play charity, which helps children in hospitals around the world with gaming. The movement seeks to throw off the gamer “entitlement” stereotype with a proactive stance of helping others, a very interesting way of getting a developers attention for sure. Let’s hope BioWare truly is listening to their community, as it seems the majority of gamers are feeling unsatisfied with the ending of this epic trilogy.

Priestly’s comments follow those made earlier this week by Mass Effect director and executive producer Casey Hudson, who explained that Mass Effect 3’s “polarising” finale was necessary to get fans talking about the game.
