Battlefield 3: Double XP Weekend Now Underway, New Premium Service Incoming

By

It looks like EA & DICE want more users to get involved in Battlefield 3. They’re running a “double XP” weekend, which has already started as of midnight PDT yesterday and will run until May 13th midnight PDT. During the event you will score double the points which will be listed in an “Additional Points” section. The double XP will apply to all of Battlefield 3’s multiplayer game modes and maps. While this is a great idea to help late comers get some unlocks it appears to be nothing more then a way to draw gamers back to BF3 in preparation for the Close Quarters DLC and upcoming premium service. The premium service offers up some interesting items, such as a new premium knife and unique black dog tag along with weapon and soldier camo options. Love it or hate it, the premium service will launch June 4th, until then double XP won’t last forever so get out there and get in on the action.

Update: According to Battlelog PC gamers will have to wait for their Double XP “PC players: Apologies for delay in your 2XP event. To give you a full weekend as planned, we’re rescheduling this for May 26-27”
