AVADirect Shows Off NVIDIA GeForce Power At GTC

The NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference kicks off today and we have been walking around talking to various companies and friends in the industry that we have known for many years. This is one of those cool trade shows that brings together many in the industry and is great for networking. One of the first booths that we stopped by was AVADirect. AVADirect is located outside Cleveland, Ohio and builds custom gaming computers, notebooks, workstation PCs and servers. The company has been around for nearly a decade and has had great success since coming into the high-end computing scene.

We stopped by and got a chance to see co-owner Misha Troshin trying out Battlefield 4 on one of his gaming machines dubbed the ‘Killer Machine’ at the booth. His gaming machine was a beast that was powered by an Intel Core i7-4960X processor, 64GB of Corsair DDR3 memory and four NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan Black 6GB video cards running in Quad-SLI on an ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard. The display setup was equally impressive thanks to the three ASUS PQ321 True 4K UHD Monitors setup in an NVIDIA Surround configuration.

Here are some more shots of the custom gaming PC that he was gaming on. We also ran across the Clevo P570WM Ultimate Laptop and were amazed by the sheer size of this thing.

This 17-inch laptop is based on the Intel X79 chipset and has an Intel Xeon E5-2697 V2 Twelve-Core Processor inside (you can pick from a number of Intel Core i7 processors to power this beast as well). The graphics are handled by the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M discrete graphics card. You can load this bad boy up with 32GB of memory and there is room for not one, but three 2.5″ hard drives or SSD’s in this portable laptop. This laptop weighs in at over 10 pounds though, so we doubt many people will be moving it around that much. This is a portable powerhouse for those that are looking to take desktop performance out on town. How does all that fit inside a laptop? Take a look at the side profile!

Since the NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference is a big show for the power users they had a Workstation PC on display that was pretty damn powerful. This particular system was powered by Dual Xeon E5-2697 V2 Twelve-Core Processors along with 128Gb of RAM, four Tesla K40 GPUs and plenty more mouth watering hardware. This is a true HPC Personal Supercomputer! Just the four video cards alone in this system will run you about $21,000 for the set at Newegg. What king of performance will this ~$30,000 rig give you? How about a score of 5,193 in the standard Luxmark benchmark test! AVADirect brought out the big toys this year for GTC!
