ATI May Start To Buy Back Stock

ATI Technologies Inc., the world’s No. 2 maker of computer-graphics chips, may buy back as much as 10 percent of its stock, calling the shares ”attractive.” ATI shares (ATYT) are currently priced at $14.99 and are up 12 cents for the day.

The Ontario-based maker of chips for personal computers may begin buying shares on March 30 under the new authorization and will stop by March 29, 2007, the company said Friday. The company’s chips are used in Microsoft’s Xbox 360 video game console and Apple Computer Inc.’s iMac personal computer.
