Asus X48 Rampage Extreme Motherboard Review
Rampage Extreme Bundle and Box
The box of the Asus Rampage Extreme isn’t too gaudy and makes it very obvious what product you are purchasing. The box itself isn’t too large either; it’s just as wide and tall as the motherboard inside and roughly double the width of the board. Inside the box there isn’t too much wasted space — everything is packed away efficiently.
The bundle itself is quite well stocked. All the cables needed to connect the board to relevant peripherals are available. The TweakIt LCD panel is secured in a box and there are additional heatsinks for the Northbridge and PWM along with barbs for the integrated northbridge waterblock. The heatsinks can be screwed into the heatpipe assembly to augment its cooling capacity and reduce temperatures. Attached to the actual motherboard protective shell was the Creative X-Fi sound module providing quality discrete audio. Included in my box was an authentic 3DMark 2006 install CD and CD-key, which is quite useful if you are interested in benchmarking.
