ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Video Card Review
Final Thoughts and Conclusions
The ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti seems to be a well built card and delivered around the same level of performance as the NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition card (review) that we also have here for testing. We expected it to run cooler and faster than the Founders Edition model, so when it was a touch slower in most benchmarks it was honestly a little disappointing. The ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti has a higher boost clock on paper and a much larger GPU cooler. This card should do better than the reference clocks, but that is where the silicon lottery comes into play.
It looks like we got a really nice Geforce RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition card that is capable of sustaining close to 2GHz clock speeds while gaming. The silicon on our ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti just couldn’t compete with that despite running cooler on both idle and load.
The ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti model is sold under part number TUF-RTX3060TI-O8G-GAMING and has an MSRP of $459.99. This card is aimed at 1080P and 1440P resolution gamers and will be an excellent card for those folks. It does cost $60 more than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition, but you get a better GPU cooler, customizable LED lighting and higher boost clocks. It looks like we lost the silicon lottery, but it should perform better than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition. It will be interesting to see how different the performance is on these cards in the months ahead.
The ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics card is backed by a 3-year warranty should it ever fail.
Legit Bottom Line: The ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti had much to like about it, but boost clock on our sample just wasn’t working with us. Hopefully this isn’t too common and the community has better random luck for a card that can reach high dynamic clocks!
