Asustek Computer is scheduled to introduce the A9, considered its first notebook series that has been completely researched, designed, developed, and manufactured by local engineers in China, to Europe and China in early 2006, according to company sources.
Asustek has almost completed development and verification by the company?s R&D and testing engineers in China of its A9 series, which features a 15-inch display and is aimed at the entry-level segment, company sources hinted. The whole process of product development is expected to take about nine months, the sources added. Asustek?s upcoming A9 notebook series may prove just how capable China?s R&D ability in the IT industry is, sources at Taiwan notebook makers commented. To lower production costs, domestic notebook makers have migrated production lines to China, with only R&D teams left in Taiwan, the sources said.
