ASUS P8P67 and P8P67 Deluxe Intel Sandy Bridge Motherboard Review
USB3 Performance Testing
HD Tach is a low level hardware benchmark for random access read/write storage devices such as hard drives, removable drives (ZIP/JAZZ), flash devices, and RAID arrays. HD Tach uses custom device drivers and other low level Windows interfaces to bypass as many layers of software as possible and get as close to the physical performance of the device possible.
Testing of the USB3 was done using the SUNBEAMTECH Airbox USB3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure. The hard drive used was a Western Digital 640Gb Black Edition Hard drive.
Benchmark Results: The Average read rates in HD Tach were spot on across all three platforms. Average write rate did vary slightly, with the ASUS P8P67 coming out on top by 1.8% over the ASUS P8P67 Deluxe!
HD Tune Pro 4.01 is an extended version of HD Tune which includes
many new features such as write benchmark, secure erasing, AAM setting,
folder usage view, disk monitor, command line parameters and file
benchmark.
Testing of the USB3 was done using the SUNBEAMTECH Airbox USB3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure. The hard drive used was a Western Digital 640Gb Black Edition Hard drive.
Benchmark Results: HD Tune shows us very similar results to HD Tach. Once again the ASUS P8P67 takes the top spot in the average write speeds albeit only .33%. While our average read speeds were all sitting at 90.4MB/s.
