ASUS Matrix HD 7970 Platinum Video Card Review
3DMark 11
3DMark 11 is the latest version of the worlds most popular benchmark for measuring the 3D graphics performance of gaming PCs. 3DMark 11 uses a native DirectX 11 engine designed to make extensive use of all the new features in DirectX 11, including tessellation, compute shaders and multi-threading.
We ran 3DMark11 with both the performance and extreme presets to see how our hardware will run.
3DMark11 Performance Benchmark Results:
Benchmark Results: The Sapphire HD 7970 Vapor-X scored 10291 3DMarks and the ASUS HD 7970 Matrix scored 10647 3DMarks in 3DMark11 with the performance preset. The two cards are close, but the extra core and memory clock speeds have kept the ASUS card in the lead the entire time.
3DMark11 Extreme Benchmark Results:
Benchmark Results: The ASUS HD 7970 scored 3464 3DMarks with the extreme preset and while it fell back a spot in the benchmark results, it is still a strong standing with just 20 points between it and the card ahead.
