ASUS Immensity Concept Motherboard Pictures – Lucid Hydra & Integrated Radeon HD 5770
I hope you guys are sitting down for this one as you are about to see the most interesting motherboard that I saw at Computex 2010! ASUS had the Immensity concept motherboard on display and it was something that you could star at for hours as it was so unique. The Immensity uses an Intel X58 Express chipset and supports Intel LGA 1366 processors, but that isn’t what makes the board special. It comes with an integrated Radeon HD 5770 graphics card and Lucid Hydra chip! This is the first enthusiast desktop motherboard that we have seen that comes with a built-in graphics card and the ability to run other various GPUS in multi-GPU mode thanks to the Lucid Hydra chip! The ASUS Immensity motherboard was really amazing, so be sure to check out all the pictures in the forums.
With the chipset coolers all removed you can really see how much this board has on it. The two Intel X58 / ICH10R chipsets are easy to make out, but notice the Lucid Hydra chip between the PCIe x16 lanes and the ATI Radeon HD 5770 GPU just below the Intel X58 chipset with two Hynix GDDR5 IC’s next to it.
