Futuremark 3DMark11 Synthetic Gaming Benchmark
3DMark 11 is the latest version of the worlds most popular benchmark for measuring the 3D graphics performance of gaming PCs. 3DMark 11 uses a native DirectX 11 engine designed to make extensive use of all the new features in DirectX 11, including tessellation, compute shaders and multi-threading.
Since Futuremark is releasing 3DMark11 today we decided to run the benchmark at both performance and extreme presets to see how our hardware will run.

ASUS Crosshair V Formula 990FX 3DMark11 Performance Preset Benchmark Results
Benchmark results: The extreme preset of Futuremark 3DMark 11 yielded results that show a slight difference between our two systems today. The ASUS Crosshair IV Formula with the AMD FX-8150 scored 1651 3DMarks and took the lead with 40 points in the overall score. The Graphics score of the AMD FX-8150 was 1494 3DMarks and took the lead by 33 points. The overall score showed a difference of ~2.5%, this isn’t nearly the margin we were expecting. The performance preset gave us a slightly larger margin of 4.2% with the FX-8150 in the lead.
