ASUS Crosshair V Formula ‘Bulldozer’ Motherboard Review
ASUS Crosshair V Formula SATA III 6Gbps Performance
CrystalDiskMark is a small benchmark utility for drives and enables rapid measurement of sequential and random read/write speeds. Note that CDM only supports Native Command Queuing (NCQ) with a queue depth of 32 (as noted) for the last listed benchmark score. This can skew some results in favor of controllers that also do not support NCQ.
The SATA III 6Gbps Testing was done using OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SATA6 SSD drive.
Benchmark Results: The performance of the SATA III 6Gbps on the ASUS Crosshair V Formula was rather impressive. We were able to hit 499MB/s sequential read, our write speeds weren’t nearly as impressive though. The write speeds were only ~178MB/s for the sequential and 512K write speeds.
HD Tune Pro 4.01 is an extended version of HD Tune which includes
many new features such as write benchmark, secure erasing, AAM setting,
folder usage view, disk monitor, command line parameters and file
benchmark.
ASUS Crosshair V Formula HD Tune Pro 4.61 Write Benchmark Results
ASUS Crosshair V Formula HD Tune Pro 4.61 Read Benchmark Results
Benchmark Results: Firing up HD Tune Pro 4.61 we were able to break 500MB/s read rates and hit 509.4MB/s, pretty darned impressive. Unlike CrystalDiskMark, the write speeds were nearly as impressive, we were able to hit a write transfer rate of 448.7MB/s!
