ASUS Crosshair III Formula Motherboard Review

The majority of the 2D tests are in favor of the Core i7 system and the 3D tests in favor of the HD 4870×2 setups, but taking that as is doesn’t accurately paint the whole picture. CPU performance for the Crosshair III Formula compared to the other AM3 motherboards is spot. GPU performance is matched up nicely with the EVGA X58 Classified with the Crosshair III Formula edging out the Classified by a few percentage points. AM3 cannot go toe to toe with Core i7 in all tests, but with GPU performance (what matters most to gamers) AM3 has a clockspeed advantage which yields better GPU performance in the end.
