ASRock’s Internet Flash UEFI BIOS Feature Makes Updating the BIOS a Breeze

By

ASRock has added an impressive new feature into its motherboard UEFI BIOSes called Internet Flash that makes updating them very easy indeed, eliminating the inconvenience and potential pitfalls of earlier ways to update a BIOS.

Gone is the USB flash drive and command line based BIOS flashing, where one false move and your motherboard was bricked. ASRock’s UEFI BIOS includes the ability to self-update by searching for the latest version over the internet, provided there is a working internet connection present. Internet Flash will come as standard with upcoming motherboards, but will also be made available on some current motherboards – which will of course require flashing the old way to get it. This feature stands head and shoulders above all other methods of updating a motherboard BIOS and will likely find its way into motherboards from other manufacturers too in time.
