ASRock X399 Professional Gaming Motherboard For AMD Threadripper Shown at Computex
ASRock is showing off their X399 Professional Gaming motherboard for AMD’s upcoming Threadripper processors. This HEDT platform is said to be coming with 8- to 16-core processor options and is designed to compete directly against the Intel X299 boards with Skylake-X processors that have up to 18-cores.
The ASRock X399 Professional Gaming motherboard supports quad-channel DDR4 memory and has four PCIe 3.0 x16 slows for 4-way NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFireX. It also has three ultra M.2 PCIe Gen3 slots with PCIe NVMe and SATA mode support for your storage needs. This X99 board also have 8 DIMMs available for the quad-channel DDR4 memory .
Check out how large that CPU socket is and notice there isn’t much room between the CPU socket and the DRAM, so it looks like water cooling might be the easiest way to cool an AMD Ryzen Threadripper processor with up to 16 cores and 32 threads.
