ASRock M3A780GXH/128M Motherboard Review

BIOS Images

Unlike some of the other budget boards I’ve played with in the past, the M3A780GXH/128M has a rather full featured BIOS. However, like most budget boards the BIOS organization is a complete mess. There are a lot of sub-menus that should have been combined and settings placed in awkward places.

ASRock M3A780GXH Main BIOS

Here is the system info, nothing special here.

ASRock M3A780GXH OC Menu

This menu has the majority of the settings you’ll be tweaking. Be aware that stuff is scattered all throughout the sub-menus, so search around a bit.

ASRock M3A780GXH CPU Config

Here you can configure the majority of the CPU options.

ASRock M3A780GXH Memory Options

Surprisingly, you can adjust every memory and memory controller setting I’ve seen on boards twice as expensive as the M3A780GXH.

ASRock M3A780GXH Chipset Options

Here you can adjust all sorts of integrated peripherals and oddly most of the non-CPU system voltages.

ASRock M3A780GXH ACPI Settings

ACPI Settings let you control various methods of powering the board on.

ASRock M3A780GXH HDD Settings

You can configure the SB710 chipset and enable RAID functionality with this menu.

ASRock M3A780GXH PCI Configuration

This menu lets you configure the PCI slots.

ASRock M3A780GXH Floppy Options

I feel this menu should be lumped with the HDD configuration.

ASRock M3A780GXH USB Settings

Here are the USB Controller settings; nothing to see here, folks.

ASRock M3A780GXH SuperIO Settings

This is just another menu that should have been combined.

ASRock M3A780GXH PC Heath

These are the system voltages and temperatures, useful as always.

ASRock M3A780GXH Boot Settings

Boot device selection, simple as that.

ASRock M3A780GXH BIOS Exit

Here you can load pre-defined BIOS settings. I would warn against using these, especially the optimized CPU OC Setting.
