ASRock A75 Pro4 Final Thoughts and Conclusion

Throughout the testing today the ASRock A75 Pro4 did not let us down. It was no real surprise that our gaming performance was right on par with our other A75 Llano motherboards. Considering that the main components of the system are all on the AMD A8-3850 Llano APU. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the AMD A8-3850 Llano review you can take a look at it here. In a short and to the point overview, the AMD A8-3850 Llano APU combines the CPU, AMD Radeon HD 6550D, and North Bridge onto one chip.

One of the areas that I was happy with was the ease that we were able to overclock our AMD A8-3850 APU. The past A75 motherboards that we have looked at, we were APU limited. Today though, we were able to get our grubby little hands on a new A8-3850 Llano APU and it made a world of difference. Inside a short time of overclocking I was able to hit a stable overclock of nearly 800MHz with a 127MHz Bclk. We were able to fire up our Windows 7 install at a 130MHz bclk though we weren’t able to achieve any sort of stability. Ultimately I would call our Llano overclocking experience with the ASRock A75 Pro4 a screaming success!

If you can remember back to the front page ASRock was able to hit a very respectable score of P6136 in 3DMark Vantage on the A75 Pro4. They even told us that it was done on an overclocked system. We overclocked the AMD A8-3850 APU on the ASRock A75 Pro4 and we weren’t able to break the P5000 mark.

By no means am I saying that ASRock didn’t hit this, but I don’t feel that it is a realistic number to use for advertising purposes. Likely it was done under extreme cooling like Liquid Nitrogen (LN2). Which isn’t something that would be used for an everyday overclock. Though it is still pretty impressive, but I would have liked to see the settings that they used to hit a score like that.

The ASRock A75 Pro4 retails for only $109.99, pair this with the AMD A8-3850 Llano APU like we used today and your off to a great system build at a great price. We have also had a look at the AMD A6-3650 Llano APU recently and it turned out to be a great little chip as well for a few bucks less. Either of these choices would make for a great system. When it comes to piece of mind, ASRock backs the A75 Pro4 with a one year warranty.

Legit Bottom Line: The ASRock A75 Pro4 is another great motherboard from ASRock! If your in the market for a socket FM1 A75 motherboard the ASRock A75 Pro4 should make it to your short list of choices!
