Asetek Liquid Cooled PNY XLR8 GTX580 Prototype Shown!

By

Asetek has been taking on the liquid cooling market with vigor these days and today they have released a video showing off a prototype liquid cooler for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 video card that is pretty sweet. With the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 reference design the company was hitting 82.7C when running the Heaven 2.0 benchmark and on their water cooler version they peaked at 51.9C. This GPU cooler should be coming out soon, but they didn’t mention what the price was going to be. The only downside to this cooler is that if you already own a liquid cooler for the CPU you won’t have a place to easily mount this one!

Introducing graphics cooling by Asetek. This is an Asetek Prototype built here at the US office with an off the shelf PNY XLR8 GTX580 card. We’ll show you how liquid cooling can increase performance and reduce noise on graphics cards. Final product may change and the results may vary. Overall, our results have been consistent across all prototypes.
