Artists Turn Bawls Energy Drink Bottles Into Vases, Ash Trays and More!

By

Over the weekend I went shopping and had lunch in the small rural town of Clarksville, Missouri that is just North of St. Louis. The small city is located on Missouri Highway 79 which is part of the Great River Road and is one of the most scenic highways along the Mississippi River. It overlooks U.S. Lock and Dam 24, providing a close vantage point to view all river traffic and tons of Bald Eagles. It also happens to be filled with artists, potters, glass blowers, jewelry designers, antique dealers, furniture makers, and specialty craftsmen.

Clarksville Missouri

I wasn’t expecting to see anything gaming related, but I managed to get all worked up when I went into Clarksville Glassworks and saw that they were using Bawls Guarana energy drink bottles!

bawls bottle vases

As many know, Bawls bottles are made from real glass and have a rich cobalt color. There are small raised bumps molded into the glass and look awesome when light hits them. The Bawls label is painted on the glasses in white. Normally these bottles would be thrown away or recycled, but this particular artist was heating them up in a kiln and floating open the bottle neck turning them into vases! The asking price was $12 each.

I later looked online and found that numerous people were using Bawls bottles in their artwork. We found square ash trays.

And the most popular ‘mod’ of all appears to be putting in some LED lights and making the bottles an accent piece to your dcor.

Who knew that Bawls bottles could be transformed into so many things?
