Apple Streaming TV Service Due in Mid-April

A report is going around that claims the long-rumored Apple streaming TV service will launch by the middle of April. The report claims that Apple is telling entertainment companies with content available through the service that the launch date is mid-April. The release date is supposed to be within a few weeks of the launch target.

If Apple hits the mid-April launch, it will meet the past promises of an “early” 2019 launch for the service. As for what sort of content will be offered on the Apple streaming service, Apple will have some of its own originals.

Other content will come from pay networks like HBO and Starz. MacRumors reports that Apple is making the service available via the existing TV app. At least some of the Apple original content will be offered to viewers at no cost reports MacRumors.

Rumors suggest that Apple’s service will launch in the U.S. first and then expand to over 100 countries during 2019. Apple is claimed to have over two dozen original TV shows in the works. That content will include dramas, comedies, children’s shows, and science fiction.
