Apple Sends Out Invites To iPad Event On March 7th

Apple’s iPad 3 release may be closer then expected, as the company has sent out invites to an iPad event on March 7th. The email received by the Wall Street Journal shows three app icons on what obviously looks to be a new iPad. The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, a favorite of Apple’s for showcasing new products. The new device, which appears similar to the previous iPad in size, will also represent a new challenge for Apple: can they draw new customers to the tablet market, and further convince early adopters to upgrade. If the device showcased is indeed the iPad 3, it will come 1 year after Apple released the iPad 2.

The Cupertino, Calif., company Tuesday invited reporters to a March 7 media event expected to mark the unveiling of its latest iPad tablet in San Francisco. The email featured what appeared to be a photograph of the corner of an iPad with three app icons and the tagline: “We have something you really have to see. And touch.”
