Apple Recalls Beats Pill XL Due to Fire Hazard

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Apple and Beats Electronics will be recalling about 222,000 Beats Pill XL speakers systems due to a fire hazard possibility. According to the report, the Beats Pill XL battery is prone to overheat to the point that an incident of fire could happen. In fact, there have been eight reports of incidents of the speakers overheating including one with a burn to a consumers finger and one that damaged a users desk. Apple Beats Pill

Manufactured in China, these $300 speakers have been sold by Apple and Beats By Dre since January 2014 and are eligible for a full refund. Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Apple for a $325 Apple Store credit. Apple will even provide postage for the consumer to send their Beats Pill XL back to Apple.
