Apple iPad Production Problems May Delay Launch

There are reports today of a major delay in Apple’s production of their upcoming iPad tablet computer. The iPad is scheduled to go on sale at the end of this month so this news could not come at a worse time as retailers gear up to sell Apples newest offering.

“An unspecified production problem at the iPads manufacturer, Hon Hai Precision, will likely limit the launch region to the US and the number of units available to roughly 300K in the month of March,far lower than the companys initial estimate of 1,000K units. The delay in production ramp will likely impact Apples April unit estimate of 800K as well. It is also possible that, given the limited number of units available in March, the launch will be delayed for a month.”
