Apple iPad 2 Coming March 11th – A5 Dual-Core CPU w/ HDMI Out, Same Price & Battery Life

Apple has officially announced the new Apple iPad 2! It’s thinner and lighter, dropping from 1.5 pounds to a mere 1.3 pounds. When launched on March 11th, 2011 it will be available in both black and white! Models of the iPad 2 will be available that work on both AT&T and Verizon Wireless will be ready on day one. The Apple iPad 2 will be using the new Apple A5 dual-core processor with twice as much CPU performance and 9x video performance. The iPad 2 will also maintain the same battery life — about 10 hours — as the first iPad, and up to a month of standby. Also preserved is the $499 price for a 16GB, same when the first iPad launched. Wi-Fi iPads at 16GB, 32GB and 64G are $499, $599 and $699 respectively. The new iPad 2 also comes with an optional HDMI out adapter that will retail for $39. Along with the iPad 2, the company also is releasing the next release of iOS 4.3!
