AOC Releases 27 Inch Q2781PQ IPS Frameless Monitor for $350

While some of us are upgrading to 4k screens there are still those of us who look for features besides 4k resolution. Recently, AOC released a 27 inch IPS frameless monitor for $350. The downside to IPS panels is that they’re normally slower than their TN panel counterparts which is why TN monitors are, more likely than not, used for gaming monitors with refresh rates surpassing the frequently sought after 144Hz and response rates down to 1ms. IPS monitors offer more vibrant colors with whiter whites and blacker blacks which leave the user with a more visually pleasing experience. Nevertheless, the sleek design of AOC’s Q2781PQ monitor with a 2560 x 1440 screen resolution is still a decent price for what we get out of it. The features of the AOC Q2781PQ include a 5ms response time and a refresh rate of 60hz.

When editing photos or video the IPS feature greatly comes in handy. The colors appear more true and vibrant as well as reduce any distorted colors when looking at the monitor from certain angles. The 5ms response time may not be ideal for highly competitive gamers but the gap between 5 and 1ms will go unnoticed.
