The Razer Cynosa Chroma Membrane Keyboard Offers Spill Resistant RGB Goodness

Razer has really been hitting the budget PC gaming enthusiast market with some solid potential offerings as of late. We recently announced the release of their value-oriented Electra V2 headset and now we’re happy to see that they’ve announced the spill-resistant Cynosa Chroma and Cynosa Chroma Pro membrane keyboards that come in at $59.99 and $69.99, respectively. While you don’t get mechanical switches, the Cynosa Chroma takes many queues from high-end keyboards that Razer produces, like 10-Key rollover and Razer Synapse 3 compatibility. The spill-resistant properties of the new Cynosa keyboard will definitely interest anybody who has had a keyboard go down to a spill from a nearby beer or soda can. The Cynosa Pro keyboard offers everything included with the standard version, while also including underglow LED lighting in 24 different programmable zones. That’s a lot of light.

Razer Cynosa Chroma Pro

The Razer Cynosa is completely compatible with Razer Synapse 3 software, so any key macro programming and customization of the RGB lighting are a go. Razer has in-game RGB lighting effects that extend compatible games to your keyboard by giving visual queues for in-game actions. I’ve always found the in-game RGB lighting features on keyboards to be somewhat useless, yet they do add some visual flair and a bit of a fun element to whichever game you’re playing. Playing computer games doesn’t have to be a serious time, does it?

The standard Razer Cynosa can be purchased right now for $59.99, while the Razer Cynosa Pro is available for $79.99. That 24-LED underglow of the Cynosa Pro may very well be worth the $20 premium to users who care about RGB lighting effects. The Razer Cynosa looks really good and is designed to compete with units like the Corsair K55, which is also a spill-resistant membrane unit with RGB lighting. What do you think? Do you have a teenage gamer in your life who might like the Cynosa? What about an error-prone adult who has lost a nice keyboard to drink spillage?
