AMD’s DisplayPort Demo For CES 2013 To Include Portrait Landscape Portrait Setup

By

This summer AMD touted that AMD FirePro W9000, W8000, and W7000 GPUs can drive up to six, 30” independent displays via Multi-Stream Transport (MST) hubs for maximum workspace utilization at ultra-high 4K resolutions (4096×2160). The AMD MST hub looks like it will be shown at CES 2013 as David Tjong, AMD Product Marketer, tweeted out a picture of some very cool looking DisplayPort daisy chaining yesterday afternoon. The image shows a mixed Portrait Landscape Portrait (PLP) monitors setup on what looks like some Dell 29″ ultra-wide monitors in AMD Eyefinity mode thanks to the MST DisplayPort hub. Mr. Tjong stated in another twee that the monitors are running in extended view and not as a Single Large Surface (SLS). Having the ability to mix landscape and portrait displays together like this is very cool and we can’t wait to see what demos AMD will be showing at CES 2013 with this setup!
