AMD is expected to launch its high-end 890GX IGP chipset in early March 2010 with Asustek Computer, Gigabyte Technology, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) and Biostar Microtech International to introduce related products at the same time, according to sources from motherboard makers. A quick Google search quickly pulls up images of these new 890GX motherboards, like the ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 shown below.

AMD will later launch 880G and 890FX chipsets at the end of April, but motherboards will not appear in the channel until early May, added the sources. AMD 890GX chipset’s integrated GPU supports DirectX 10.1 and UVD2 and will pair with its SB850 southbridge to replace the company’s current 790GX/SB750 combination. Asustek is already offering pre-orders for its 890GX-based motherboards, the M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 and M4A89GTD Pro in Europe with the former motherboard featuring support for USB 3.0.
