AMD Radeon R9 380 Video Card Announced By HP
HP recently announced their new HP ENVY high-performance desktop PCs and it appears that these gaming oriented towers are packed full with the latest gaming hardware from AMD and NVIDIA. It looks like HP said a little too much in the press release though and accidentally announced that the AMD Radeon R9 380 video card will be available in their ‘back to school’ PC lineup for late 2015!
For performance, customers have the choice of up to NVIDIA GTX 980 or AMD Radeon R9 380 discrete graphics with support for fourth generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors or next generation AMD A-Series A8 through FX processors.
We all knew the AMD RadeoN R8 300 series cards were coming, but we have confirmation from HP that the AMD Radeon R9 380 is real and will be featured in the HP ENVY Desktop and HP ENVY Phoenix Desktop. The AMD Radeon R9 380 has not yet been formilry announced by AMD and it not known if this will be the flagship single-GPU card or not. In recent years AMD has used the ‘X’ nomenclature on some of their premier high-end cards. The HP ENVY Phoenix tower is aimed at gamers and the chassis looks great with a brushed aluminium finish and red accent lighting.
The press release also noted that the HP Pavilion All-In-One systems will be made available with AMD Radeon R7 A330 and AMD Radeon R7 A360 discrete graphics, which are brand new GPUs that we’ve never heard of before.
For power and performance, customers have the choice of fourth generation Intel Celeron processors, Intel Core i3 through i7 processors, next generation AMD A10 and A8 processors or AMD next generation mainstream A4 through A8 processors. While integrate graphics are standard, customers have the option to choose AMD Radeon R7 A330 or A360 discrete graphics for video editing or gaming. With up to 3TB of storage options, customers have the space to store all of their precious family photos and videos, movies and music.
Now that HP has announced the AMD Radeon R9 380, R7 A330 and R7 A360 discrete graphics solutions we are fairly confident that AMD will be releasing the AMD Radeon 300 series before summer ends!
