AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series Specifications Confirmed

By

A Slide that details AMD’s upcoming Radeon HD 7800 series graphics cards has been leaked. The slide shows the 7870 and 7850 Pitcairn specs to be double what Cape Verde offered. The Radeon HD 7850 will sport 1024 stream processors clocked at 860 MHz and uses 2GB of GDDR5 memory on a 256bit bus. The card features 154 GB/s of memory bandwidth and offers compute performance of 1.76 TFlops all within a TDP of 130w. The Radeon HD 7870 which is fully enabled will come with 1280 stream processors clocked at 1 GHz and also sports 2GB of GDDR5 on a 256 bit bus much like the 7850. The HD 7870 will offer 154 GB/s of memory bandwidth again the same as the 7850, however the compute performance is substantially higher at 2.56 TFlops, power consumption sees a sharp rise with the TDP listed at 175w. Both GPUs are based on the Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture, and are fabricated at TSMC on the 28nm manufacturing process.
