AMD Radeon Branded DDR3 Memory Modules Surface in Japan

Has AMD entered the DRAM market in Asia? A website over in Japan has found some retail DDR3 modules for sale at a PC market, so it looks like it could be true. The parts are available in three classifications and all are 2GB in density. It appears strange that they would include ‘Radeon’ on the memory module, so could these be fakes?

AMD DDR3 Memory Module

Memory chips with engraved AMD, “AMD brand” have shown up on DDR3 memory. The memory was sold in very small quantities at Dosupara parts. Retail price is 1,570. The Web site of the company shows AMD’s memory offerings listed as “Entertainment” “ULTRAPRO Gaming” and “Enterprise” in 2GB modules.
