AMD Has Sold Over 25 Million DirectX 11 ATI Branded Graphics Cards

We went back and read the disclosure from AMD’s earnings call last night again and noticed that AMD recently celebrated the shipment of its twenty-fifth million DirectX 11 graphics card! AMD currently has 11 video cards in their ATI Radeon HD 5000 series and the cards were first released in September 2009. With the Radeon HD 6000 series being released later next week it will be interesting to see how well those video cards do. AMD had a tough time keeping Radeon HD 5000 series cards available for retailers as they were selling quicker than expected.

AMD has shipped more than 25 million DirectX11-capable GPUs since introduction in September 2009. Apple refreshed its iMac and Mac Pro desktop computers, making ATI Radeon cards the only graphics solution for all configurations of these products.
