AMD FX-8350 CPU Taken to 8.37GHz on MSI 990FXA-GD80 Motherboard
MSI issues a press release this morning praising a Taiwanese overclocker called Alvinkenzo that managed to overclock the AMD FX-8350 (Vishera) processor to 8370.93MHz. This is a world record for this processor model and was done using the MSI 990FXA-GD80 motherboard and lots of liquid nitrogen. The AMD FX-8350 processor has a base clock of 4GHz, so this world record overclock is more than double the base clock of the processor. Notice that Alvinkenzo disabled 6 of the 8 cores in order to reach this overclock. The CPU voltage was 2.04V along with a base frequency of 270.3MHz with a 31x multiplier. You can check out the CPU-Z validation here under ID 2583343.
MSIs AM3+ mainboards support the latest AMD Vishera processors. In support of this fact is the recent overclocking record on the MSI 990FXA-GD80 which hit the 8.37GHz mark with an FX-8350 processor, making it the fastest processor AMD FX-8350 in the world.
