AMD FX-8150 Processor Review – Bulldozer Arrives
3DMark Vantage
3DMark Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance
benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and
DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests,
several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware. 3DMark
Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed
specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API
from Microsoft.
The Performance settings were used for testing, so a resolution of 1280×1024 was used.
Benchmark Results: The AMD FX-8150 was able to hit an overall score of 18045 points in 3DMark Vantage. This score sets the FX-8150 121 points ahead of the Phenom II X6 1100T and 2728 points behind the Intel Core i7-2600K.
Benchmark Results: The GPU score of the AMD FX-8150 was lower than we would have expected in 3DMark Vantage. With a score of 17716 points it fell behind all of the processors with the exception of the AMD A8-3850 APU.
Benchmark Results: The CPU score of the AMD FX-8150 in 3DMark Vantage gained a little ground back. With an average CPU score of 19109 points it was ahead of the previous generation ‘Thuban’ and ‘Deneb’ flagship processors and was behind the two Intel Core i7 series processors.
