AMD cuts desktop CPU prices by up to 25%

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) today released price cuts for its line of desktop PC-use processors, including the Sempron and Athlon 64 lines. In addition, the chip vendor noted that production of Socket-A Semprons will be completely phased out by the end of the third quarter.
The Sempron 3300+ 64-bit was $140? it will now be $126 and the new Sempron 3400+ comes in at $134. The X2 3800+ comes in at $354, while the X2 4200+, 4400+, 4600+ and 4800+ take on the following new prices respectively: $482, $537, $704, and $902.
