AMD Considering Water Cooling Option For FX-Series Bulldozer CPUs

We heard the buzz going around this afternoon about how AMD is going to be offering a water cooling kit with a processors as part of the companies Processor in a Box (PIB) Program. We contacted a number of water cooling companies and the chip maker only to get confirmations of the story and that this is currently being explored. AMD is looking to bring to market a retail boxed processor with a sealed water cooling kit! We think this is a great idea and it will obviously be available on enthusiast/gamer parts. We are glad to see that AMD is embracing some unorthodox cooling ideas for retail processors! X-Bit Labs mentioned that the Antec Khler H2O 620 self-contained liquid cooling system is one of the ones AMD is looking at. Our sources wouldn’t confirm what coolers they were looking at, but made it a point that multiple brands were being looked at. They also mentioned that if this idea sees the light of day that consumers will save money as AMD would be buying them in bulk quantities and that savings will be passed along to consumers. How nice of them! Anyone want to take a guess as to what company will win the contract? Could it be Antec, Asetek, CoolIT, Corsair or another company?
