Alleged Xbox One S Disc-free Console Details Leak
Rumors have been flying that Microsoft is gearing up to launch a version of the Xbox One that has no disc drive. The console is said to be for streaming games and new details about the console have surfaced. Among those new details are a box art image showing the smooth front console.
Windows Central reports that the disc-free Xbox One S will debut in mid-April, presumably at Inside Xbox. The console is tipped to have an early to mid-May launch. Rumors point to May 7, 2019, as the specific launch date.
Microsoft is said to be targeting a simultaneous launch all around the world. As for the design on the console, it looks almost exactly like the current Xbox One S, only minus the disc drive.
The box art calls out a 1TB storage drive and the console appears to ship with three digital games. The games shown on the front of the box include Minecraft, Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 3.
