Aerocool Zero Degree Installation

Since the motherboard stand-offs are pre-instaled the installtion of the motherboard went very quickly and plenty of room was available for even those with the ‘fatest of thumbs’ to be able to work in.

Installing the power supply required the removal of the power supply back-plate. You have to remove the plate and slide in the power supply. Once the power supply is in all the way the plate can be fastened and then screwed directly to the power supply to hold everything tight.

Here is what the finished product looks like. Installed here is our Intel D975XBX2 motherboard with an Intel QX6700 Quad-Core processor. The massive thermaltake Big Typhoon VX doesn’t look too big in this case. The four Western Digital Raptors mounted just fine if we didn’t use an Adaptec 3405 RAID controller. The special wires that have to be used with the Adaptec 3405/3805 RAID controller hit the power supply housing, which meant the case door couldn’t be put on. Since most people don’t use a seperate RAID controller this should be an issue, but to those that do keep this in mind. It would have been nice if Aerocool could have supplied more 3.5″ to 5.25″ hard drive bay adapters! The ATI X1950XTX video card cleared the full length optical drive that we installed, so other than the minor hard drive mounting issue the case passed with flying colors when using full length PCIe graphcis cards and optical drives.
