ADATA Falcon 1TB NVMe SSD Review
AJA System Test
AJA System Test:
AJA System Test by AJA Video Systems measures system disk performance using video test files of different resolutions, sizes and codecs. We selected the standard 4K UltraHD resolution, a test file size of 1GB and the ProRes 4444 codec to see how this drive does with regard to video rendering performance. ProRes 4444 is used for heavy effects work and deep color projects. We changed the default test file size from 1GB to 16GB to better represent real-world usage. The results from this benchmark help content creators with regards to rendering expectations, throughput, file read/write expectations for transfers and that kind of thing.
Benchmark Results: The AJA System Test results on the ADATA Falcon 1TB drive showed that it was capable of 1,548 MB/s read and 2,031 MB/s write speeds. The write disk performance pattern showed that write performance was anything, but smooth and both the capture and playback tests had some performance drops that were noteworthy.
The performance drops the overall read/write performance on the ADATA Falcon 1TB drive put it up above the popular WD Blue SN550 1TB drive for write speeds, but it was slightly behind on the read speeds. The ADATA Falcon was 31.7% faster than the ADATA Swordfish on writes and 25% faster on reads, so if you care about performance and there is only a $5 to $15 difference in price… The ADATA Falcon 1TB is standing out from the crowd so far.
