Activision Blizzard has confirmed that Activision Publishing CEO and President Mike Griffith has resigned from both of his roles, effective April 23, 2010. Griffith will remain with Activision Blizzard in a new role as vice chairman of the board of directors taking on a more active role in the board and internal strategy meetings. His salary should be around $250,000 a year.

Griffith will be moving over to the Activision Blizzard board of directors, where he’ll serve as vice chairman. In so many words, rather than talking about games that aren’t out yet on the phone with investors, he’ll be spending more time doing that in private. Oh, and he’ll be working on “key initiatives and projects” to the tune of $250K each year.
