Active Media Products Rolls Out 600X Pro Series CompactFlash

Pro SLR manufacturers have stayed with the larger Compact Flash media cards because of their capacity for speed above that of secure digital cards. The speeds of the cards not only increase writes from camera bursts but also in the speed of moving data off of the card when it’s time to edit.

Many pro DSLRs can rapid fire up to 10 frames per second, but after the buffer fills they can only shoot as fast as the memory card can write. The memory card becomes a bottleneck in shooting action sequences. These 600X Pro Series cards can write up to 90MB per second, so even in raw mode a high end DSLR will be able to shoot at or near its rated speed for sustained periods”, explained Active Media Products’ VP of Sales, Jerry Thomson.
