Acer Chromebook Tab 10 Debuts for Education

By

Schools all around the world have chosen Chromebooks for their students due to price and performance. What many schools have wanted for their students isn’t a laptop-style Chrome OS device, but a tablet. Google and Acer have now announced the first Chrome OS tablet called the Acer Chrome Tab 10.

The device runs Chrome OS in tablet form factor that is designed perfectly to be in a computer cart in a school. The tablets are managed just as Chromebooks are. Google says that the Chromebook tablets are lightweight and durable. They come with a low-cost stylus inside that doesn’t need to be charged or paired.

That stylus gives students a natural writing experience. Google also notes that soon teachers will be able to take students on Google Expeditions to the Great Barrier Reef, the Colosseum, and the International Space Station from the Chrome devices.

The tablets come with support for educator focused apps like Google Keep for taking notes in their own handwriting with an annotation feature for Google Classroom. The Chromebook Tab 10 supports hundreds of other learning apps available on Google Play. The tablet will launch this spring via education resellers with more information coming closer to launch.
