ABIT Fails To File 6-Month Financial Report
ABIT Computer seems to be “Up a River Without a Paddle” and things don’t look like they are getting any better for the second-tier motherboard maker. At a press conference yesterday ABIT reported that it may miss an extended deadline to turn in its six-month financial report, possibly submitting the report by September 30 at the earliest. I find it highly interesting that ABIT launched the “Pro Gaming Hardware” series under the Fatal1ty name on November 1st, 2004 and ever since sales and/or revenues have been down. By putting all of ABIT’s time and effort into marketing the Fatal1ty line cause the possible demise of ABIT?
ABIT failed to turn in its six-month financial report to the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) by an August 31 deadline as requested by Taiwan?s Securities and Futures Bureau (SFB) of the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC). The SFB granted ABIT an additional 13 days to submit the company?s 1H financial results. ABIT said that an accounting firm that was commissioned on July 20 did not have enough time to check through the company?s financial statements. Due to questionable financial reports over the past three years, executives at Abit are forbidden to leave the country under Taiwanese government restrictions.
