NVIDIA Quietly Launches GeForce GTX 460 SE Video Card w/ 288 CUDA Cores

By

NVIDIA announced the GeForce GTX 460 SE video card today. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SE has 288 CUDA cores running at 650MHz graphics clock and 1300MHz processor clock. It has a 256-bit frame buffer interface with 1GB GDDR5 running at 3.4Gbps. Pricing should be around the same range as the current GTX 460 768MB version and will be available shortly from the worlds leading add-in card partners. The original GeForce GTX 460 had 336 CUDA cores and a 675MHz core clock and 1350MHz processor clock. This makes the GeForce GTX 460 SE slower than the original version as it has less cores and lower clock speeds. NVIDIA didn’t send out any samples of the GTX 460 SE GPU for any launch day articles today, so we will see if we can get our hands on one for you. We did catch a press release from MSI this morning though that announced their N460GTX-SE Cyclone Series video card.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SE

Equipped with the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SE GPU and top Military Class components, up to 30% overclocking potential can be reached on the N460GTX-SE Cyclone series via MSI Afterburner’s over voltage function for GPU. In addition, by using the MSI-exclusive Cyclone thermal design with 9cm PWM fan, dual heat pipes and nickel-plated copper base, the N460GTX-SE Cyclone effectively dissipates heat and generates 15.7% lower noise than the reference cooler under full load to create a quiet gaming environment for users
