Kingston Ships New Affordable SSDNow V100 Series SSDs

By

Kingston today announced the SSDNow V100, the latest addition to the SSDNow V Series family of solid-state drives (SSD). Designed for mainstream consumers, the Kingston V100 SSD is the best performance enhancer and most cost-effective upgrade path for desktops and notebooks, short of a total system replacement. Kingston is also introducing a 256GB capacity version to the V Series for the first time that will complete the product lineup along with the 64GB and 128GB models. The sequential performance on the 128GB and 256GB drives is up to 250MB/s Read and 230MB/sec Write. The 64GB drive has the same read speed, but the write speed is just 145MB/s due to less MLC NAND Flash being available to the SSDs controller lanes.
