F.E.A.R. 3 has been given an updated release date, publisher Warner Bros. confirmed. The third title in the first-person horror series will now ship worldwide on March 22, 2011 for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The game was originally scheduled to ship this holiday, but was delayed into next year for unspecified reasons.

F.E.A.R. 3, was officially announced on April 8, 2010, along with its trailer. The game will be developed by Day 1 Studios, in collaboration with Monolith. According to the announcement, the gameplay will feature a “Generative Scare System” to change the placement and timing of enemies “on each playthrough”. The story will follow Alma and her baby’s birth. The “Point Man” will make a return from the first game (this time without his balaclava as seen on the trailer), as well as Paxton Fettel, even giving hints of a co-op mode involving the two, each with their unique powers. The game will also feature a script co-written by Steve Niles and in-game cinematics directed by filmmaker John Carpenter.
