Super Talent Announces Green DDR3 Desktop Memory – 1.35V

By

Super Talent recently announced that the company is now shipping their new “Green DDR3” to support low-voltage platforms. The memory kits are based on the JEDEC standard 1.35V DDR3 SDRAM-VLP 2GB modules with 1Gb components. Super Talent says their new Green DDR3 memory features: lower cooling costs, higher efficiency, and most importantly dramatic power savings. They left off one cool feature though and that is the height reduction. Standard DDR3 modules measure the standard 1.18 inches, but this Super Talent Green DDR3 solution has a vertical height of just 0.72 inches! The 2GB Green DDR3 1333MHz modules carry part number W13UB2GLx and have CL9 timings in case you were curious.

“Sometimes doing the right thing is hard;here is on that is easy. With our new green DDR3 you can increase your systems performance and save on total costs, while simultaneously reducing your CO2 footprint”. And the “Green” contribution doesn’t end there; these new modules run at 1.35v instead of the traditional 1.575v. Lower voltage translates to lower power, less cooling, lower electrical bills, and less CO2 emissions. Now you can do the right thing for your enterprise, wallet and the earth all at the same time – without compromise. – SuperTalent COO, CH Lee.
