NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 Video Card Listed in Austria

By

The guys over at Fudzilla have spotted NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce GT 430 video card listed for sale at an Austrian online retailer called BA-Computer. The card is branded Gigabyte GV-N430OC-1GI and listed as a “GeForce GTS430 1024MB DDR3 PCI-E 128bit 1xDVI-I HDMI”, which tells us that it is a 1GB DDR3 PCIe video card with a 128-bit memory bus with DVI and HDMI connectors. Fudzilla reports the card will have a downscaled GF106 GPU onboard with 96 stream processors. BA-Computer has this upcoming card listed for 72.62 including tax. The company also charges roughly the same price for an ATI Radeon HD 5550. Here in the United States you can get an ATI Radeon HD 5550 for $60 at Newegg for a price comparison.

The card is listed at 73, but were talking about an OC version, so the MSRP for reference boards is probably a bit lower, i.e. 69. This is half way between AMDs Redwood-based HD 5570 and HD 5670 so its safe to assume that the performance will somewhere in between as well. However, Redwood has been around since February, and Nvidia is late to the party, and we dont mean fashionably late. In fact, HD 6000 series cards should start appearing in two weeks time, just like the GT 430. AMD has already made a bundle on the HD 5000 series and were also expecting price cuts as the company phases them out in favor of new HD 6000 parts.
