By

Kingston today announced the release of its CompactFlash (CF) Ultimate 600x memory card. The CompactFlash Ultimate 600x supports UDMA mode 6 and offers read and write speeds of up to 90MB/sec. making it Kingstons fastest card to support high-end digital cameras and other devices. This product replaces the previous generation CompactFlash Ultimate 266x memory cards that came out way back in the summer of 2007 as the fastest CompactFlash card series by Kingston. Hard to believe that in 2007 the fastest CF card from Kingston was 8GB in size, rated at 266x and cost $280. Three years later you can get a Kingston CompactFlash Ultimate 600x 32GB card that is rated at 600x for just $270! That is four times the capacity and more than twice the performance for slightly less money!

The Kingston CF Ultimate 600x cards are great for photographers shooting in burst mode. For example, in a situation like a wedding or sporting event where the ability to rapidly take successive shots could make the difference between capturing the perfect shot or just missing it, said Mike Kuppinger, Flash card product manager, Kingston. We are pleased to add the 600x card to our CompactFlash family of products which also includes the 266x Ultimate and 133x Elite Pro cards.
