AMD Radeon HD 6770 and 6750 Video Card Specs Leaked – Looks Great!

By

A PCinlife forum member has leaked what looks to be a real looking chart from AMD’s slide deck that compares the specifications of the ATI Radeon HD 5700/5800 series to the upcoming AMD Radeon HD 6700 series. If this is true this leak suggests that the upcoming AMD refresh will bring twice as much performance to the mainstream graphics card market, which is huge as many cards are sold at that price point. Not only do the features look good, but so does the power consumption. The slide shows that the AMD Radeon HD 6770 features a TDP of 146W and the Radeon HD 6750 at 116W. Idle power usage is 23W and 20W, respectively. Let’s hope that this slide is real, but for NVIDIA’s sake let’s hope their mid-cycle kick comes sooner rather than later. Rumors of the upcoming GeForce GTX 580 video card are going strong, but we know select press were given permission to see the GTX580 during NVIDIA GTC 2010 last week in San Jose. You can look at the full sized spec chart here.

AMD Radeon HD 6770

Codenamed Barts XT, the HD 6770 features 320 VLIW-4 shader clusters, i.e. 1280 SP. It features the same ROP count (32) and memory bus (256-bit) as the HD 5870, though TMU count is dropped to 64 (from 80). The core clock is a whopping 900 MHz, making it the fastest stock speed of any discrete GPU. The memory clock and thus bandwidth is a shade lower than the HD 5870, at 134.4 GB/s. Barts Pro, branded HD 6750, features 280 clusters, or 1120 SP and 56 TMU and a much lower clock speed of 725 MHz, though the memory speed is only 50 MHz lower at 1 GHz. Incidentally, these clock speeds are identical to the HD 5850.
